Time-Varying Treatments
Slide 1 of 6
What are Time-Varying Treatments?
Time-varying treatments change or may change over the course of follow-up.
Examples:
- Medication dose adjusted based on symptoms
- Continuous treatment with possible discontinuation
- Sequential treatments (e.g., surgery then chemo)
Why special methods?
- Treatment at time depends on prior outcomes
- Prior outcomes affect future confounders
- Standard regression fails
