Direct Bias Modeling
Slide 1 of 6
What is Direct Bias Modeling?
Direct bias modeling: Include unmeasured confounder in the analysis model.
Approach:
- Specify prior distribution for unmeasured confounder
- Model relationships between confounder, exposure, outcome
- Impute confounder values
- Analyze with imputed data
Contrast with external adjustment:
- External: Apply correction formula to estimate
- Direct: Include variable in model itself
